Thank you for ordering a customized mystery package!

To retrieve your mystery, simply click the bitly link you were provided in the email you received from SHOT. One of two things will happen…

  1. You will receive a pop-up window asking whether you want to open or save the .zip file
In this case, select ‘save’ or ‘save as’ and specify where you would like the package to sit on your computer – we recommend somewhere you can easily find it, like your desktop.
  2. Your system will automatically download the package without asking for instructions from you.
In this case, your mystery will probably be found in your ‘downloads’ folder, and in some cases (like with a Mac) it will already be decompressed (unzipped) so you can work with the files right away.UNZIP the ZIP file

Your next step, if your system did not already do it, is to unzip, or decompress your mystery package. This part is REALLY IMPORTANT and must not be skipped, as tempting as it may be! Here’s the reason why…

In order to send you all the materials (which are quite large, including audio files!), we have to compress the file – essentially, squishing everything down really tiny so it can be transferred to you digitally.

If you simply start working with your materials WITHOUT unsquishing everything, you can run into problems, like items not printing properly. You also won’t be able to attach your suspect guides to an email to send to your guests if you haven’t decompressed the files. So, even though you may be able to open the file and view the materials, make sure you unzip them so you don’t run into trouble – especially at the last minute!

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF IT’S UNZIPPED?

A zipped folder will have what looks like a zipper on it. If it has a zipper, right click on it and select “decompress” or “unzip” from the menu. It will take mere seconds and then you have fully unsquished materials at your fingertips!

    THEN WHAT?

Look for your “Host Guide” inside the “Host Materials” folder. This will give you all the instructions (and then some!) that you need to get started!

Have a fantastic time at your party, and remember, we geek out over your photos so share them with us on our pages… we live for your photos!
