Bacchanalia!

– a Roman festival of Bacchus celebrated with dancing, song, and revelry

– A riotous, boisterous, or drunken festivity; a revel.

Bacchanalia can have a few different meanings, depending on the context and era in which it is/was used. In Roman Times, a bacchanalia was a festival, whereas in the early 50’s, it was considered an uninhibited, drunken party. However, this term has also been associated with parties that incorporate activities of free love (wink wink). Bacchanalia can be a fun term to use to invite your friends to a more free and lively party but ensure that your potential guests know what to expect so there are no misunderstandings when they RSVP!
