The year is 1922 and the Roaring 20s are just getting underway. The end of the war has meant the start of a renewed sense of passion and joie de vive. Unfortunately, two years ago the government implemented prohibition, the ban of the sale, manufacture and transport of alcohol. The ban of alcohol has meant the rise of organized crime, as men and women alike have begun the production of alcohol illegally, and have begun smuggling it all across the continent. Anti-prohibitionists, or “wets”, flock to secret parties and speakeasies to enjoy drinking and dancing in a way the world has never seen before. Overnight, alcohol producers and smugglers have become millionaires, allowing for the rise of previously low-society citizens to enter the world of the elite. This, coupled with the fact that servant and master alike endured the tragedies and triumphs of the war together, has brought an end to the previously-strict class structure.
Welcome to the Reynolds Mansion, a grand estate on Sapelo Island, just off the coast of Georgia, a mere day’s trek, or a half day’s drive by motorcar, from the bustling city of Savannah.
Sapelo Island was recently sold to tobacco heir Richard J. Reynolds, a good friend of our host this weekend, Mr. Foxx. RJ Reynolds, whose picture can be viewed over the fireplace in the Great Room, often entertains guests like Mr. Foxx. The pictures in the Artillery Room in the basement show how influential Reynolds’ guests have been. RJ Reynolds has lent the property to Mr. Foxx to use for this gathering this weekend.
In Savannah, Mr. Foxx, throws lavish parties each weekend at his estate, called Lands End, but Mr. Foxx has never been seen. This weekend, he will break his silence at the Reynolds Mansion on Sapelo Island and come out from the shadows to reveal himself to an exclusive, and bafflingly varied group of guests.
But when a guest is found floating in the pool, clearly murdered, the dinner party turns into an investigation, and every guest is a suspect! Become a sleuth and discover the killer, and, if you can, the identity of The Sly Mr. Foxx! The killer could be you!
