VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE BIBLIOTECA MARCIANA – INSTRUCTIONS

Dear Host,

The Masquerade Murder/The Antikythera Code has a very special feature unique to this game and not offered through any other murder mystery game company, and that’s the Arounder.com virtual tour of the Biblioteca Marciana. This incredible website puts you and your guests right inside the library, and gives everyone a first-hand glimpse of the setting.

But more importantly, your game has been specially designed so you and your guests can interact with the 360% tour of the rooms in the Marciana.

How do I use the site?

It’s so easy, even WE figured it out so you’ll have no problem! Just click this link:

http://venice.arounder.com/it/palazzi-storici/biblioteca-nazionale-marciana

Bookmark it immediately, and then play around with it to familiarize yourself with the tool. Sansovino’s library, the Reading Room, the Vestibolo and the Golden Stairs are all rooms in which the plot is set, so have fun with it! Simply click on the room you would like to explore and wait for it to load. Use the arrows to zoom, turn around, look up and down to discover this incredible place. Familiarize yourself with how it works so on the night of your mystery, you can show your guests!

No other mystery game company does this with their mysteries – why have you?

When I first started plotting The Antikythera Code/The Masquerade Murder, I fell in love with the interior of the library and knew that the stunning setting was the perfect place for the masquerade, and Sansovino’s library was where I wanted the murder to take place. As writing is my background, naturally I wanted to describe the Marciana within the game, but trying to explain its beauty and complexity would require a boxed set of novels… not appropriate for a murder mystery game. Then I stumbled across the Arounder site, and not only was I inside the rooms plotting where the murder would take place and creating the coded clues from what I saw, I knew it was the perfect way to share the library with those investigating the murder.

Do I have to use the website?

Of course, not everyone will want to use this feature, and that’s just fine. While it will only enhance the experience, if you don’t have a computer at the ready at the time of your party or don’t want a lot of people playing with it, you may not want to use it. That’s just fine, because the game has been designed in a way that allows for full game play without the use of the virtual library.

We hope you enjoy this truly unique feature, and would love to hear your feedback on it and your experiences! Email me at mysterymaiden@shotinthedarkmysteries.com!

Sincerely,

Leigh Clements
