I ain't no Steinlen, but I can Noir my Chat with the best of 'em!
Love this…
Next week we are launching the second game in our mini-mystery game series, called Le Chat Noir. It’s a redux version of a game we wrote for the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary & College in Cochrane, Alberta, called The Cat Came Back. We are tweaking this awesome, non-murder mystery game for the general public and launching it under the name “Le Chat Noir”.
Of course, we’re not the first to use these three French Words together. Our game is about a black cat, but here’s the print called Le Chat Noir by Theophile Steinlen.
This cat is so awesome, all dishevelled and mangey. Here’s my creation for the game:
It’s got to be one of my favourite cover art creations, and one of the most fun projects I have worked on. There is also the original cafe:
Of course, it was originally a cabaret in the Montmartre area of Paris – it’s still around, but no longer a cabaret, obviously.
A little feline education for you today on the Shot In The Dark Mysteries blog – didn’t expect to learn something did ‘ya?
