We can’t always drop everything and get to the spa for a bit of pampering, which is why more and more women are turning to doing home spa treatments, throwing spa parties, and, of course, hosting Murder at the Spa for themselves and a few (or a lot) of their closest girlfriends. Yet, when it comes to “treatments” to perform while the women are doing their sleuthing, many hosts don’t know where to start.
This homemade coffee exfoliating scrub is the perfect beginning to any spa party, or even personal home spa indulgence. It’s easy, can most likely be made with things you have around your house right now and is ooooooohhhhhhh so decadent.
Smooth, soft skin for days following, antioxidants and, of course, the confidence that the ingredients are all-natural, because they’ve come from your very own kitchen!
So, to make your own coffee exfoliating scrub, you will need:
- ½ cup of brewed coffee grounds (about 3 K-Cups or half of the grounds left over after brewing a traditional pot of coffee)
- ½ cup sugar
- 1-2 tsps Cinnamon or Nutmeg
- ¼ cup Olive Oil (We used EVOO and it was brilliant)
- 12 drops essential oil – vanilla, lavender or tea tree oil (we used tea tree oil because of its natural healing and disinfecting properties)
Mix all your ingredients up and head for the shower! Definitely NOT recommended for the bath tub! The above recipe makes enough scrub for one body. Enjoy – we sure did!
