Christmas! Yeah, I went there…
Christmas! *Shudder*
How many of you cringed when you read that subject line? Did you inadvertantly double check your calendar to make sure it was June and not December? Sorry to scare you! BUT the fear I just instilled is for a reason – Christmas in July!
Now, I like Christmas… I guess. But with the stress and financial drain, over the years I have begun to like it less and less. Now that I have my son though, I see the magic through his eyes, and get inspired.
But that’s not enough to make me ask for a SECOND Christmas! Who thought of this, anyhow? Christmas die-hards or mall marketers?
Okay, I’ll admit it, the fun around “Christmas in July” kind of got me excited. Not that I want to run around decking my halls or buying presents, but those who DO celebrate Christmas in July are a fiercely devoted crew. So, I’m curious, who out there celebrates Christmas in July?
This is the first year we’re doing anything for Christmas in July, but so far I’m already having fun. As many of you know, the face of Shot In The Dark Mysteries has changed a lot over the past 3 years, and so has the look of our games. Our new “visually stunning” game materials have replaced standard text-in-a-.pdf mystery print kits, but some of our older games have yet to be converted. Therefore, we’re re-vamping and re-launching our existing Christmas games in honour of Christmas in July. They’re getting a full face-lift, accusation forms, audio files and more!
This also means the price is going up slightly – from $32.99 to $38.99. So, here’s the offer. Get your Christmas-themed mystery in our old format before the new ones launch throughout July and you’ll get a deal! Beat-the-clock, if you will. The two existing games are:
The Santa Strangling (being revamped now) – a 9 suspect murder mystery for adults with an optional 10th suspect. The mayor of the city gets all dressed up, gets strangled and chaos ensues, with dirty little secrets spilling over like Latti’s rum and egg nog. For a sneak peak at the new cover art (whivh includes a Santa chalk outline) CLICK HERE!
The Christmas Crankster is our original kid’s Christmas mystery game – which, of course, means it’s murder-free. It’s about a bunch of pranks a kid’s party, and everyone has to decipher the clues to determine who the thief is. It’s a turn-based mystery, which makes it super easy for kids to play and parents to facilitate.
And, just for fun, we have a third kids Christmas mystery party game also launching this month – but we’ll keep that one secret for a bit. Let’s just say that it includes elves. Hm.
Okay, one last thing. I was so busy last week getting The Pirate’s Revenge mini murder mystery game launched that suddenly I looked at the clock and it was 7pm and I had not sent out the newsletter. I was working SO HARD! REALLY! Okay, I wasn’t. I was sort of screwing around creating pirate name tags and making this pirate webding say funny things (like “This Game Be Arrrr-right”. Get it?? “ARRRRR-Right?” hahahaha – okay, it’s not that funny.

But anyhow, The Pirate’s Revenge mini-murder mystery party game has launched – play it in about an hour! It’s also your Friday recommendation. GET YOUR PIRATE ON HERE!
This weekend we’re having a party ourselves! It’s my hubby’s birthday and we’re having some people over for a backyard BBQ in our new house. Happy Birthday, Babe, here’s to another year of crazy adventures!

Once I get all of the housecleaning done I’ll really be looking forward to it! Don’t forget to visit us at http://www.shotinthedarkmysteries.com, and have a great weekend, everyone!
Sincerely,
Leigh Clements
