Apikalia’s Pineapple South Pacific

The Bartender at the Make Kaka Resort Tiki Bar’s personal creation!  You will need:

  • A pineapple
  • 1.5 oz your favourite brandy
  • .5 oz lemon juice
  • .5 oz pineapple juice (from the pineapple itself)
  • 1/4 oz creme d’ananas
  • 1/4 oz creme de menthe (white)

Warning – While having a hypothetical victim stabbed in a murder mystery party plot is fun, getting stabbed in real life is not, so be sure to trim off the sharp bits on the side of the pineapple before you begin, or you’ll be stabbing your guests’ digits with a thousand tiny swords when you hand them this drink. As always, please practice safe party hosting.

Solve A Hawaiian Homicide while sipping this version of the traditional South Pacific, as created by the Make Kaka’s bartender, Apikalia.

To create the perfect drink vessel for your Hawaiian luau party, chop off the top 1/4 of the pineapple. Drain pineapple juice and set aside, then, hollow out pineapple to form a drink vessel. Put pineapple chunks aside for possible garnish later.

Shake together brandy, lemon juice, creme d’ananas, creme de menthe and pineapple juice over ice. For a frozen drink, blend with crushed ice. Pour into pineapple and garnish with cherries, pineapple chunks, flowers, tiny umbrellas, leaves from the top of the pineapple or, if you prefer, all of the above, with the top of the pineapple lid you chopped off.

Serve with a great murder plot, like A Hawaiian Homicide murder mystery party and give your guests a party, and a drink, they will never forget!
